COLLECTION DRIVE WITH VIENNA YOUTH SOCCER

Pass with Purpose partnered with Vienna Youth Soccer  (VYS) as part of its Recycle Your Game program to host a one-day collection drive. We joined forces with VYS & Leveling the Playing Field (LPF) for this drive, which took place on September 14, 2024 at Oakton High School in Vienna, Virginia. As part of this collection drive, Pass with Purpose was also the lucky recipient of thousands of VYS jerseys, shorts, socks, warmups & other soccer gear donated by L.A.C.E.S., a nonprofit organization that used to leverage the power of sport to mentor at-risk children worldwide before it closed its doors at the end of 2024.

In total, the collection drive generated more than 3,000 donated jerseys, shorts & socks from VYS member families! In December 2024, we travelled to Central America to hand deliver hundreds of VYS jerseys, shorts, socks & other soccer gear to children living in impoverished areas of Costa Rica & look forward to distributing the rest of the gear to children in other parts of the world.

We appreciate VYS for including Pass with Purpose in its Recycle Your Game program & promoting this collection drive to its member families. In addition, we are so grateful to L.A.C.E.S. for providing us with soccer uniforms & gear from past collection drives with VYS. Finally, we're very thankful to all of the volunteers helped us with the drive! We plan to hold collection drives like this one with VYS & LPF twice a year, once in the fall & once in the spring.
